Link Projects that are Managed in Multiple Applications

If one project is managed in multiple applications, then the Lobby will show multiple rows or cards for it, one for each application.

For example, let's say you have one project that is managed in both Oracle Primavera Cloud and Aconex. In the Lobby, that one project will appear as two rows in the List view or two cards in the Card view. Adding to the confusion, that one project may not have exactly the same properties. For instance, it might be called "Construction Project" in one application and "construction proj." in the other.

Fortunately, if you have the Lobby Organization Admin privilege and if the Controlling Organization field (found on the Projects page) matches your organization, you can link such projects.

After you link projects, they appear as one. When you select a linked project, you can then choose which application to view it with.

To link projects that are managed in multiple applications:

  1. Select Navigation Menu and select Projects.
  2. On the Projects page, find a project that is managed in more than one application.

    A good way to see which projects have likely matches is to sort them by name and look for projects with identical or similar names.

  3. In the row or card for the project under which you want to consolidate another project, select Actions, and then select Link project.

    The project you select here will determine the name of the consolidated project row or card, which will represent and provide access to both projects.

  4. In the Link Projects panel, in the Select the project to link list, select the matching project.

    Note: The application may suggest up to three potential matches at the top of the list if project criteria, such as the project name, is similar.

    After linking, the project that you choose here will no longer appear by itself in the List or Card view. Instead, only the project labeled Use details from this project will appear. When you select that project in the List or Card view, you will then be able to select which instance of the project you want to open in its respective application.

    If you want to switch the primary and matching projects, select Swap Projects. This is useful if you find that the project in the Project field is a better representation of the project.

  5. Select Link.

    Now only one row or card will be shown for the project in the List or Card view. When users select this one row or card, they will then choose which product to open it in.

You can repeat this process for as many instances as there are for the same project.
